PURPLE FUN: Bree Maddox with The Court hotel star

AS if the Court Hotel wasn't enough fun already, owner Bree Maddox and staff will be donning purple bras to encourage women to get their hands on their breasts.
The Northbridge bar will be filled with purple lingerie on Friday June 19 in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA. Purple Bra Day was great fun for a great cause, said BCFWA supporter Bree Maddox.

“It’s something that we all need to be aware of, now that cancer is being diagnosed in younger and younger women,” Ms Maddox said.

“We’re trying to raise awareness so women learn how to self test at a young age and get a doctor to check it out if they do find any lumps.

“It’s very important to get the message out there because early detection can save lives.

“The BCFWA main aims are to educate and to provide grass roots support to women with breast cancer. It helps women doing chemo by visiting them, doing housework, helping to pay the bills and providing counsellors.

BCFWA fundraising manager Maree Daniels said Purple Bra Day was a great opportunity to have some fun in the workplace.

“You can sponsor someone to wear a purple bra, with money going to the BCFWA,” Ms Daniels said.

“So pick the person you most want to embarrass and sponsor them to wear a bra on the outside of their clothes all day. “It’s also a good opportunity for guys to wear a bra as a bit of fun and not get frowned upon.”
