Man says anger got the best of him in attack over porn DVDs.

A Tyrone Township man whose anger got the best of him was sentenced to at least 30 months in prison for assaulting a neighbor with a knife during an argument about not returning pornographic DVDs.

On Thursday, Livingston County Circuit Judge David Reader ordered Anthony Michael Jelinek to serve a maximum of 15 years in prison for felonious assault for attacking a 51-year-old man at the victim's Hidden Hollow Lane home in the Tyrone Woods mobile home park in September. Jelinek, 38, also pleaded guilty to resisting police.

"I do apologize for my own actions," he said, asking the judge to give him "a chance" to be the father he should be to his five children.

"I wish I could have changed it. ... I let my anger get the better of me," Jelinek said.

Police said the two men were arguing about one borrowing and not returning pornographic DVDs from the other man.

A witness said the younger man initially grabbed a pen off a cabinet and repeatedly threatened to kill the older man. At one point, the witness said, the younger man also tried to grab a gun, but the gun case was empty.

At that point, Jelinek went to his own home nearby and returned with a knife that the victim said appeared to have a 10-inch blade, Sheriff Bob Bezotte said.

The victim, who was working in a shed, said his attacker came
at him while making a "slashing movement" with the knife, the sheriff said.

The victim said he was cut on his left index finger, thumb and knuckles. He said his attacker also tried to strike him in the head with an object before fleeing the scene, Bezotte said.
