Charlene Phillips is the Australian Sex Party independent candidate in the QLD State Election for the electorate of Toowoomba South.
Charlene Phillips is 29 years old and has been living in Toowoomba for over a decade. She has been an active member of the Australian Sex Party since she joined - years ago!
Charlene works full time as an accounts/admin/receptionist for a catering equipment shop. She has a strong administrative background and has held key volunteer roles within youth work and charity organisations.
Charlene said "Before finding the ASP, I didn’t have much interest in politics, and anyone talking about it used to send me to sleep. Once I found the ASP, at a Sexpo stall, I knew that there was a better choice around, and that these people believe in what I believe in. The ASP is made up of real people, real adults that have the right to be adult, in every part of their life."
"I believe that I have a good standing in the community here in Toowoomba, with friends and associates in many sections of the community, including the LGBT community, health section, many businesses and other small community groups. I hope to be able to help these people get the recognition and support they need from the government, as well as helping promote the ASP into the big leagues."
Australian Sex Party endorsed independent candidate Charlene Phillips is one of the candidates running for the 2012 Queensland state election for Toowoomba South. These candidates (and those for North Toowoomba) were invited to present at an event hosted by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Here is Charlene's presentation. An excellent debut performance!
