Huw Campbell is a passionate Sex Party member in New South Wales. Huw's following up a run for the senate in the 2010 federal election by standing for the NSW upper house, the Legislative Council, in the March 2011 election. Officially Huw will be running as an independent due to overly strict NSW electoral requirements.
"I'm keenly interested in sexual politics and secular morality and firmly believe that the NSW Parliament has fallen behind in ensuring equality and the freedoms people are entitled to. I'm fed up with the paternalistic stand point of the NSW Parliament at present and believe that education and respect are far superior to fear mongering and censorship. I believe that scientific training and inquiry is an important addition to the political scene which is sadly under represented in Australia."
Huw is a solid state physicist by training. After completing a Bachelor of Advanced Science with First Class Honours in Physics in 2006 he has been undertaking a PhD at the University of New South Wales, where he also established the first university Australian Sex Party society.
Huw works as a maths and science tutor from the primary school to university level and has experience in explaining a large variety of concepts, from politics and science to juggling.
