1. Name: Fiona Patten.

2. Occupation: CEO of the Eros Association and president of the Australian Sex Party.

3. Favourite Film: Mmm I am a film slut. Every time a see a new film it is my new favourite, which makes Danish comedy At World’s End my new favourite. Although I have very fond memories of my first viewing of the porn classic Behind the Green Door.

4. Favourite Album: I love a couple of old Madonna albums including Ray of Light. Other favourites include Jim White’s No Such Place and Garbage’s Bleed Like Me.

5. The first album I ever purchased was: Quatro by Suzi Quatro.

6. The last movie I saw was: Animal Kingdom.

7. The film that changed my life was: Apocalypse Now.

8. My parents are: Rick and Ann Patten They worked as: Dad was in the Navy and then posted to the Australian Embassy in Washington. Mum worked for OTC can’t remember what it stood for Overseas Telephone and Communications?? When they retired they bought a small farm and worked harder than ever.

9. My childhood dream job was: Safari park leader and poacher hunter. I didn’t know what poachers were but I loved the boy across the road that I played the poacher hunting game with.

10. The people I most admire are: I thought Madeline Albright was pretty spectacular and I have a few friends with disabilities who are absolutely brilliant and achieve more in a day that I can do in a week.

11. My Election Day theme song was: Okay, embarrassing, but I can’t think of any cool lie to tell. It was M People’s “Moving On Up”. Fortunately, for most of the day I was only singing it in my head.

12. I decided to get into politics because: That is a hard question as it has been progressive over many years. From sex worker rights, HIV Aids advocacy, industry lobbyist, etc. Establishing a political party was a natural next step. Although as I write that I wonder how setting up a political party is ever just a normal natural step.

13. The reason I chose to start the Australian Sex Party was: Frustration. I was so tired of seeing members of parliament bow to conservative organisations and politicians ignoring the majority. The proposed internet filter was the final straw. The party has also enabled me to make a stand on a much bigger civil libertarian platform.

14. The most frequently asked question I get about the ASP is: “Where’s the party?”

15. The most satisfying part of election day was:
Beating Family First in five out of our six lower house seats. Actually it had been such an intense five weeks that the after party was pretty satisfying.

16. If I was Prime Minister for a day I would:
The tempting answer is throw a fab party at the lodge but I think most of the day would be spent repealing as many laws as possible.

17. The next three years will be:
An enormous growth period for the party both in numbers and policies.

18. My goal for the ASP at the next election:
Will be to win a seat. We are contesting the Victorian state election.
