The Australian Sex Party is all about choice, according to Australian Sex Party candidate for La Trobe, Martin Leahy.

Martin has been an active member of the Sex Party since 2009, and has been a crucial element in the Party's success in Victoria. He has contested many an election at both a state and federal level for the party.

Some of the policies that are most important to Martin include the establishment of uniform abortion laws across Australia, that fracking is an unacceptable risk to Australian agriculture land, non-charitable religious business that promote religion and not do charitable work be removed from having tax exemption status, a balanced approach to transport with equivalent funding for both roads and public transport, assisted dying, marriage equality and a rational approach to handling climate change through reducing emissions and rewarding use and development of renewable energy sources.

Nearly all Australians support the idea of Voluntary Assisted Dying, that a person has a right to choose when they leave. The Australian Sex party has a sensible, comprehensive policy that would protect the rights of the vulnerable, and give an option to the dying and terminally ill to end their lives with dignity.

Marriage equality is a human rights issue, and one that needs to be addressed now. Martin believes in the Australian Sex Party's policy that would see discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation removed from the law.
