Celebrated author and academic Professor Ross Fitzgerald will lead The Sex Party's bid for a federal Senate seat in NSW, named as the party's number one candidate.

An emeritus Professor in History and Politics at Griffith University, Fitzgerald has published thirty-eight books, including works on Australian Rules football, politics, the history of alcohol in Australia, religion, and a string of novels.

Sue Raye

A pioneer of Australia's Adult Industry, Sue Raye is a passionate civil liberties advocate and has supported the policies of the Australian Sex Party for many years.

A small business owner and philanthropist Sue will be pushing the Australian Sex Party's core policies of Drug Law Reform, Dying with Dignity and ending Religious Tax Exemptions.

Patrick Sheil

Candidate for Grayndler

Pat Sheil is a 59-year-old journalist, author, playwright and enthusiastic political maverick.

He is thrilled to be running as the Australian Sex Party's candidate for the NSW seat of Grayndler, having contested the past four Federal elections as an independent in the Federal Division of Wentworth, now held by the Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, where, working from a small base, he managed to double his vote at each successive poll.

Rebecca Lanning

Candidate for Sydney

Rebecca Lanning is a founding member of the Australian Sex Party and proud to now be standing for them as a House of Representatives candidate in the federal seat of Sydney.

Rebecca left the Australian Sex Party office in 2014 in order to devote herself to being a great stay-at-home mum. However she couldn’t stay away and has continued to contribute in a voluntary capacity – helping out during election campaigns, membership drives, and whenever the team rings and asks “Bec, can you help?”
