Sex Party Invokes Privileges Committee At Parliamentary Exorcism |

The Australian Sex Party will conduct a peaceful demonstration alongside The Catch the Fire Ministries on Mt Ainslie this Saturday, to protest the influence that radical religious groups are having on federal politics. Party convenor, Fiona Patten, said that the federal Parliamentary Privileges Committee should also attend the rally to ensure that MPs were not in any way ‘threatened’ in the line of their duty by the nature of the ‘exorcism’.
Firebrand preacher, Pastor Danny Nulliah, is bussing in followers from around the country for a public exorcism of the federal Parliament from Mt Ainslie - which overlooks the parliamentary triangle. Nulliah has claimed that Canberra witches covens have been holding blood sacrifices on Mt Ainslie as a way of ‘hexing’ the parliament and of promoting homosexuality and abortion.
The Sex Party will conduct its own ‘blood sacrifice’ in the form of a halel sausage and kofta ball sizzle. It will also unveil a specially commissioned oil painting that deals with the issue of blood sacrifices, religious influence and the federal Parliament. The painting, by a famous Australian artist, will be offered to the Parliament House art collection after the event. The painting will be unveiled by Canberra burlesque dancer and pagan worshipper, Heidi Von Hottentot.
The Australian Sex Party, Australia’s newest registered political party, supports gay and lesbian rights, legal abortion around Australia and a Royal Commission into child sex abuse in religious institutions. Fiona Patten, who will be handing out sausages and kofta balls on the day, said that since Kevin Rudd had become PM, the percentage of federal MPs who were members of the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship had risen from 75 to 84, which was almost 40%. “This is way out of proportion to the 9% of the Australian public who claim to be committed weekly worshippers”, she said. “Rudd has made it clear that membership of this group will not do ALP MPs any harm in advancing their careers.” She said that Opposition leaders were just as bad in their approaches to radical religious groups. “Peter Costello made a gushing video for the Catch the Fire Ministries and John Howard wrote a ringing endorsement of this group who are now engaged in what is possibly the most ridiculous and outrageous action around the federal Parliament”.
Fiona Patten will be available for interview on Mt Ainslie from 2pm on Saturday 17th October.
