Hurricane Irene has closed businesses across the city, but Eighth Avenue's 24-hour sex shops are vowing to stay open throughout the weekend.

Hunkering down makes Manhattanites frisky, adult store workers said Saturday evening.

"There are no subways and everybody's going to be trapped where they're at, so why not make the best of it?" said Sean Willoughby, a sales associate at Gotham City at 687 Eighth Ave., which said their DVD sales had been higher than usual on Saturday.

A customer leaving the store, which sells glow-in-the-dark condoms, said people trapped in their homes get bored.

"There's nothing else to do but have sex and drink," a man walking out of Gotham City said.

An employee at DVD Depot, a few blocks north, said business had been steady.

"This is what people want, to forget everything," Sarath Willath Gamuwa said.

Hustler is in possession of a sex tape featuring singer Rihanna and rapper J-Cole, according to RadarOnline.

In a statement to the news site, Hustler officials claim to have an intimate video of the two performers but has not indicated when or where it was taken.

"Hustler is in possession of the Rihanna and J-Cole tape," a Hustler rep told RadarOnline. "We have seen it and we do not know what we are going to do with it yet."

XBIZ was unable to confirm with Hustler President Michael Klein that the adult company had possession of a Rihanna-J-Cole tape. He was unavailable at post time.

J-Cole was the opening act for Rihanna during her 2011 Loud tour and she also made a cameo in his music video "Can't Get Enough."

Rihanna has denied that she made a sex tape despite new claims to the contrary.

Kane also reproduced the URLs the festival had used to sell tickets for Kane's performances.

"It is disappointing and insulting enough to be judged by my actions of over 30 years ago and not judged for my music," Kane wrote to the show's producers, "but I should think if you are going to blatantly judge me and cancel my appearance that the Shelby Chamber of Commerce should at least own up to their decision and be honest about the reasons why."

Bert and Ernie, Sesame Street's favorite longtime roommates, are not getting married -- because they're not gay, or straight, for that matter.

Earlier this month, inspired by New York state's recent legalization of gay marriage, an online petition argued the case that the popular Muppet characters wed one another.

But Sesame Workshop nixed that idea in a statement posted on the official Sesame Street Facebook page on Thursday:

"Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation."

With over 8,000 total signatures, the original petition read: "We are not asking that Sesame Street do anything crude or disrespectful by allowing Bert and Ernie to marry. It can be done in a tasteful way. Let us teach tolerance of those that are different. Let Sesame Street and PBS Kids be a big part in saving many worthy lives."

California-based drugmaker, Gilead Sciences Inc., agreed to allow four of its AIDS drugs to be made by generic drug companies at a cheaper cost in return for a small percentage of royalties, United Nations health officials said Tuesday.

Roughly 33 million people worldwide have HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and live in Africa and Asia where medicines to treat the virus must be affordable in order for those who have little funds to buy the drugs. One of the four drugs will also be used to treat people with hepatitis.

The 'first of its kind' deal was negotiated by the U.N.-led Medicines Patent Pool, a partnership that raises money for AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. "We will continue to work with Gilead and others to expand access to all people living with HIV in developing countries," Ellen 't Hoen, executive director of the pool, told ABC News.

Gilead will receive from three to five percent royalties on its four drugs, which will be supplied to about 100 countries. Until now, its drugs have been mainly sold in rich countries, and profits from the new deal are expected to be a tiny fraction of those Gilead normally receives from the Western consumers.
