We are very excited to announce we are running in the NSW local government election for the Council of the City of Sydney!

I am sure you will remember how much work we put in as a branch last year - the numerous forms and declarations - finally getting registered for these elections in July 2011. 

That is why it was so thrilling for me to be sitting at yesterday's ballot draw for the election for the Council of the City of Sydney and hear "Sex Party" read out as one of the groups to be included on the ballot. (I even let out an excited "woohoo!!" which I believe may have been the first woohoo ever uttered in the Returning Officer's office - those conducting the ballot draw seemed a little startled.)

The details:
We are running a group of five candidates for the Council of the City of Sydney.  Our candidates are (in the order that they will appear on the ballot paper):
1. Andrew Patterson
2. Zahra Stardust
3. Geoffrey Thomas
4. Robyn Trigg
5. Graeme Dunne

The Sex Party will be shown above the line as Group C on the ballot paper.  Candidates will also be listed below the line.

Zahra Stardust is also running as a Mayoral Candidate in the Council of the City of Sydney! (Go Zahra!) Her name will appear at position 2 on the ballot paper.
