The Sydney University Politics Society has identified the current NSW state political environment as providing "more scope than ever for the minor parties to make their mark on state politics, as they have increasingly done at the federal level."
With that in mind, Fiona Patten (Convenor, Australian Sex Party), Lee Rhiannon (Greens Senator-Elect) and Gordon Moyes (Parliamentary Leader, Family First) were featured speakers at the Society's recent ‘Minority Parties as Major Players: Tipping the Political Balance’ lecture.
It was a mediated panel discussion on the increasing influence of smaller parties and what this could mean in the context of the upcoming state election, and for governance in general.
The Australian Sex Party would like to thank the Sydney University Politics Society for the opportunity to be involved in the debate.
